Welcome to The Office – West Toronto
HOUSE RULES
The Office is a co-working space that prides itself on having a professional, warm and friendly atmosphere where everyone is treated like a family member. However, please keep in mind this is a workplace and a set of House Rules apply. If a Member is unable to respect and follow the House Rules, their membership may be revoked, rental agreement terminated or services suspended.
Office/Cubicle spaces. Each working unit comprises furniture and wireless or cable internet. Please, respect The Office’s and other Members’ property. If furniture or property damage arises from a Member’s negligence, the Member causing damage must arrange for a replacement or compensate for damages.
Hot desks. The hot desks may be shared by multiple members. Please, avoid monopolizing the whole desk.
- Work in progress and personal items should only be located on desks while in use. When not in use these should be stored in allocated storage areas – ask the Front Desk Staff for assistance.
- When Members are finished using a hot desk they must clear all personal belongings to allow use by other members.
The boardroom is available for all Members and can be reserved online via our user-friendly reservation software, Skedda. The boardroom can be used on an as-needed basis without reservation only if the desired term is free.
The Kitchen and Kitchenette may be used by all Members. Members may consider placing labels with their name on their items kept in the fridge. The fridge is emptied at the end of each week. All Members are expected to keep the kitchen clean and tidy. Please, recycle when possible.
Access Cards and Keys. We provide each Member an Access Card for 24/7 entry to the facility. Some spaces include additional keys. A $25 fee will be charged for replacing any access card or key.
Respect. All members shall be prohibited from participating in any type of harassing, discriminatory, or abusive behaviour to The Office staff and other Members. Any breach of this rule may result in the immediate termination of your membership or suspension of services.
Printing. Please, consider the environment before printing and use black and white toner when possible.
The temperature at The Office is set to suit most Members. Please, inform The Office Manager if you have any feedback.
Cleanliness. All Members are responsible for keeping common areas and their desks clean. Place dirty dishes in the dishwasher and wipe surfaces after use.
Noise. Please, be respectful of other Members and try to maintain a quiet working atmosphere. When speaking on the phone, be mindful of the volume of your voice. If your phone call might disrupt other people, please take it to the boardroom if it is available. We suggest putting the phone on vibrate mode to prevent disruption.
Music. Everyone has access to the music controls via the Sonos App. However, we suggest you choose office/work friendly tunes during business hours.
Pets. We love pets but please do not bring them to The Office unless they are assistance animals.
Termination. The Office Corp. reserves the right to terminate any service at any time. The Office Corp. further reserves the right to terminate your participation in and use of any services, immediately and without notice, if you are unable to fully comply with The House Rules.
Insurance. The Office Corp. is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged items. We strongly recommend Members acquire a Renter’s Insurance Policy to cover their own equipment while occupying space at The Office.
